Hi, I’m Liy. I’m a communications consultant documenting convenings, supporting networks, and doing voiceovers. I currently focus on systematising information and knowledge creation to strengthen movements in the Global South.

I organise, clarify and present information for myself and others. I enjoy being a part of local and transnational / transcultural work that is reflective, accessible, and sustainable. I believe that knowledge creation from lived realities and facilitating interdependence is crucial now and in the years to come.

My collaborator Syar and I provide tarot consultations for individuals and events through our outfit, Mellow Tarot. Tarot is one response of mindfulness against the anxieties of increasing global and local turbulence. Through our readings and communications experience, we guide clients to reflect on their narratives and imagine ways forward.

As for personal creative projects, I ran a non-fiction analytical book club on Snapchat, collaboratively devised a narrative performance from Malaysian folklore, created an interactive offstage poetry performance with my late grandfather’s typewriter, and released one of Kuala Lumpur’s first spoken word music EPs.
